How apropos! I wish the cover had more going on. It seems way too simplistic, in my opinion. After 90 pages I would probably be getting frustrated too. It's too bad this didn't turn out the way you had hoped, the premise sounded great!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00693881573322261240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9155297479974865683.post-39455373515490370992013-10-30T21:24:51.860-04:002013-10-30T21:24:51.860-04:00They are :( Although, I have embarrassingly low to...They are :( Although, I have embarrassingly low tolerance and patience.

That's true! Whiney characters are always annoyances. :(

I also understand your problems with The Vow not living up to your expectations. I try not to let my hopes get in the way when reading, but it can be hard not to compare what you wanted to happen with what really happened. The most important thing, though, is the delivery of a good story, and sometimes surprises end well. Hopefully that will be the case in your next not-what-I-expected read. :)Emily @ Forever Literaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06220478018390968505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9155297479974865683.post-71198668540296192602013-10-30T13:16:44.037-04:002013-10-30T13:16:44.037-04:00From a legal standpoint, this book was actually ac...From a legal standpoint, this book was actually accurate. I think that two teens living in Kentucky (?) would probably not really understand the ramifications of what they are doing, especially if they are desperate, you know? I do agree with you on the slow start, though.

Kate @ Ex Libris
Kate @ Ex Librishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16161681565485372950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9155297479974865683.post-39237583531837931372013-10-30T09:41:45.495-04:002013-10-30T09:41:45.495-04:00Thank you, Alice! :)Thank you, Alice! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00343758249538361290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9155297479974865683.post-76482472627480585542013-10-30T01:10:05.326-04:002013-10-30T01:10:05.326-04:00I loved this whole idea and the friendship aspect ...I loved this whole idea and the friendship aspect too when I read the synopsis, so I'm sorry that it didn't end up working out that well! I totally get what you mean about how your reading experience can be less enjoyable if you expected a different kind of story, though. I'm curious about this ending now, though...

Wendy @ The Midnight GardenWendy Darlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13471461156849725177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9155297479974865683.post-20464875633448701352013-10-29T08:07:35.506-04:002013-10-29T08:07:35.506-04:00I understand some of the issues that you had with ...I understand some of the issues that you had with this book Sunny, I think I went into this expecting one thing, but was left with something completely different, also that ending, where did that come from? After everything that they had been through, I didn't think that it would come to that. I'm sure that I will still be picking up books by Martinez in the future as she is a talented author, but this wasn't my favourite read by her. Thanks for your honest review Sunny!
