Rewind & Review: June 30 - July 13

Hosted by Shae Has Left the Room
I liked the beach when I was younger, but it was one of those things for me that I liked it more when I was THERE. The thought of it made me groan. Well, we went to Ft. Lauderdale during the week of Fourth of July and that beach was beautiful. I also was able to escape life so if I could permanently escape it and live at the beach, I'll be fine with that. Just let me take my books.

Books I received this week:

Books I read: a bunch of halves

What I'm reading now/next:
  • Top Ten Inspired: TV Fangirling
  • Review: On the Fence by Kasie West
  • Happy Birthday to Me Giveaway
  • Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I'd Like to Be Deserted With
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Preview: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
*Subject to change

Bookish (and not-so-bookish) Happenings:
  • My roommate FINALLY replied back and it turns out she's an engineer. I'm rooming with smarty pants. I'm already intimidated.
  • TRISH DOLLER works at my local B&N. There will be pictures in the next R&R.
  • My family of girls (consisting of one mother, two sisters, and me) hosted a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law in three weeks notice. We survived.

Retro picture
I was looking through old journals and I tried to find a picture of me near the time I started my FIRST journal at six years old. This was off by just a week or two!
How was your last two weeks?

  1. Eeek! HoF!!! I'm reading it right now but haven't gotten too far into it. In a bit of a reading slump and it's a little slow. I'm sure it'll pick up soon, though. And Trish Doller works at your local B&N?!? What the what? That's awesome! Also, you've reminded me that I forgot to add Adrenaline Crush to my review schedule and thusly need to read it ASAP. Too many books...I'm drowning in them! But has there ever been a better problem to have? :D Hope you're having an awesome weekend, Summer!

I think another blogger goes to the same B&N as you because I remember her tweeting about seeing Trish Doller there!

  3. That's not fair that you get to know your roommate before moving in together. My son's friends are even getting to pick theirs. It was more fun when you just showed up the first day and meet them. lol.

  4. What you said at the top about the beach is true for me, I love the beach but when I think about going I dread it a little bit because of how much we have to get together to go, but when I'm there, I love it!

I like the cover of Adrenaline crush a lot! I don't think I had read about it before, it looks good! :)

  6. Cute pic! And yay for Heir of Fire! I can't wait to start that one (I have an e-arc) but I have to remember to look for it on my kindle. Adrenaline Crush looks like a fun one! Have a great week.

  7. I keep longing to hit the beach with my boyfriend, and it keeps not happening. Something always comes up! I just want a little escape too... :( Oh, I'm very much looking forward to your review of On the Fence! And I'm equally curious about your preview of Snow Like Ashes! I got approved for an e-arc, but I have not read it yet. I'm hoping it's good! *crosses fingers* And aren't you just an adorable little thing in that picture? Thanks for sharing with us, sweetie. :)

  8. I've only been to the beach twice this summer (and the second time doesn't really count because I looked, climbed a lighthouse and got back in the car ^^; ), but I'm hoping for a "real" beach outing this weekend. Happy Birthday in advance! And what a cute picture!

  9. An engineer for a roommate! She already sounds smart, but no smarter than you, I'm sure. You might just have different strengths and can help each other with general education classes. :) And I'm jealous that Trish Doller works so close to you!
