While flying an Allied fighter plane from Paris to England, American ATA pilot and amateur poet, Rose Justice, is captured by the Nazis and sent to Ravensbrück, the notorious women's concentration camp. Trapped in horrific circumstances, Rose finds hope in the impossible through the loyalty, bravery and friendship of her fellow prisoners. But will that be enough to endure the fate that’s in store for her?

Elizabeth Wein, author of the critically-acclaimed and best-selling Code Name Verity, delivers another stunning WWII thriller. The unforgettable story of Rose Justice is forged from heart-wrenching courage, resolve, and the slim, bright chance of survival

Why I love:

I just can't stop staring at it. I honestly, really can't. I still haven't read Code Name Verity, although I'll be fixing that soon, but this companion novel is everything I like. It's mysterious with the red scarf flying in the wind on the gate, it displays some WWII on the cover with the planes, and everything about this cover just screams pretty to me. I love everything about it and even though compared to others, it's not exactly eye-catching, it definitely catches my eye every time.

What cover are you loving this week?

  4. I agree Sunny this cover is just gorgeous. What I like most about it is that it's so simple, but manages to get so many different messages across, I can't wait to get started on this book! :)

  5. I cannot even verbalize the extent of my need for this book.

Its cover IS pretty. Gorgeous. It is pretty in a stark, striking way that may not be traditionally eye catching but does make you look back every time, and it is also pretty in the usual way. That scarf is a beautiful burst of color and the fence looks so simple and elegant, although I doubt the people inside of it feel that way. Great Cover Love pick, and you should get to reading Code Name Verity ASAP.

  6. That cover IS gorgeous. I love WWII stories, but for some reason, I can't get on board with these books. I haven't read Code Name Verity, even though every one and their mama was raving about it last year. Hope both books exceed your expectations!
