Top Ten Tuesday: 2014 Releases I Never Read

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
So many great 2014 books I never got to read. I don't even know where to start. HOW do you do this sort of thing? Well, I rummaged through 2014 Top Ten TBR posts and picked 2014 books I listed, but didn't read. Also, I picked a few from Goodreads. There were great ones left behind.

Hungry by H.A. Swain
The title describes my whole life. But for all seriousness, the synopsis sounded really interesting and my sister had a copy, so I can't believe I never got around to reading it.

Breakfast Served Anytime by Sarah Combs
Can you see a theme here?

The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu
Many, many great reviews about this one. I need it.

Firebug by Lish McBride
Again, SO MANY GREAT REVIEWS. And it's about fireeeee!

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
I seemed to have avoided a lot of series enders in 2014 and I think it's because I was already going through so much, ending and beginning things, I just couldn't handle more trauma. And I feel like this would certainly give me heartbreak.

The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings
I need to remedy my 2014 mistake.

Evertrue by Brodi Ashton
Another series ender that I need to get to, but I don't know if I can handle.

Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen
Fantasy, fantasy, fantasy. I had this in my winter TBR for 2014, but ended up binge-reading Harry Potter instead. Sooo....

Free to Fall by Lauren Miller
Lauren Miller! I adored Parallel so I'm bumping this one up on my TBR.

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira
I think this was on every Top Ten Tuesday TBR list I had in 2014. 2015 will be the year!

What books do you wish you had gotten to in 2014?

  3. Summer there's so many books that you've mentioned that I wasn't able to pick up last year either! I still need to read Free to Fall, Love Letters to the Dead and Ruin and Rising! Lets hope we get to them soon! :)

  4. I know, there were just so many unread 2014 releases to choose from. How to pick? But Stolen Songbird made my list, too. We'll get 'em this year, right? :)

  5. Stolen Songbird! AHHHHH. It was one of my top books of last year, it's fantastic! Ruin & Rising is also amazing! I adored the ending, but there are a lot of fans that didn't so it was kind of a mix. But it broke my heart with it's amazingness.
I hope you get around to them all! Happy reading :)

  6. Hungry does sound pretty good though I haven't heard many reviews on it or anything. Free to Fall was one that I'm quite excited for because I read Parallel by Lauren Miller last year and I really adored it. Love Letters to the Dead sounds really amazing as well. Great picks! :) Hopefully you get around to reading them all this year.

  7. I also started the Grisha trilogy in 2014! Unfortunately, I started reading the second book too soon after the first (I need a break between books when I'm reading a series) and that made me put it down! Oh well, lesson learnt. I'm still excited to continue with the trilogy :-D
I haven't heard of a couple of books you mentioned so I will check those out!

    1. You need to continue! Don't wait too long though or you'll forget everything that happened!

  8. Summer, I HIGHLY recommend Free to Fall! It's one of my favorite books of last year. Such a well-plotted book with a swoony romance. Also really enjoyed Stolen Songbird.
I hope to read Firebug when the sequel releases later this year.
Great list, lady! I hope you're able to get to some of these :)

  9. Yes, read The Truth About Alice soon and let me know what you think! I didn't read Free to Fall either, but I have a library copy right now, so I'll get to it soon. And I'm beginning to think I should read Love Letters to the Dead too since EVERYONE loved it.

Hopefully you'll get the chance to catch up on all of these books in 2015!
