BEA
Obviously. I think every time there's a post about bucket lists or what I want to do this year, BEA will be on it. So keep scrolling. Nothing new on this point.

I WANT TO MEET ALL OF YOU. And squish you.
Actually read all books on Top Ten Tuesday TBR post.
I mentioned this in the last Top Ten post I did, where I listed books I wanted to read this spring, but I probably wouldn't complete it. Every season this happens. One day...

Read on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Hey, it's bookish. I'd prefer it to be a nice, cool day in Paris and I'd be sipping on my freshly made coffee with a book in my hand. It'd be even better if it was set in Europe.

Meet a publicist in person.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to meet more authors, but I'd also love to meet publicists. So far, I haven't talked to one online that wasn't nice. Who doesn't love nice people?I want to squish all of you too.

Have my own reading room.
I thought putting library on there was too ambitious so I stuck with a "reading room." Basically, big comfy chairs, wall-to-wall shelves, and preferably a fireplace with a rolling library ladder. Also preferable: a window overlooking the city.
Read 150 books in one year
I've actually never counted how many books I've read in a year, but I am this year. Here's hoping.
Finish all the series I started
Graceling, Just One Day, Under the Never Sky, Everneath, the list goes embarrassingly long.
Read Harry Potter
I know.
Have coffee with YA authors
It doesn't have to be more than one, but I think it would be way more fun to sit down and drink/eat something with an author than quickly meet them at a convention. Girl time, if you will.

EDIT: Bonus: Right after I published this, I thought of one more and it was really big in my mind: Learn how to computer design/work with code. I'm always in awe of people who can make buttons or whatnot and I'd love to be able to do that.
What's on your bookish bucket list?
We have some of the same items on our lists. I went with reading room too because I just don't see this house having a formal library. Our style has always been more casual than formal. Hope you'll visit me at http://thebookconnectionccm.blogspot.com/2014/03/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-things-on-my.html
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd go crazy and put in Belle's (from Beauty and the Beast) library in, but I thought I should try to stick relatively realistic ;)
DeleteOh, great list, Summer! You're very ambitious, but you haven't read HP yet? This is a must. An absolute must. :) And we will make it to BEA one year and gush and squish and it will be magical. And then the next year we will read on the lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower and it will be 10x more magical. :D
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I see it happening in the next couple of years (for HP). Although I see BEA happening very soon as well too! JEN, I LOVE THIS PLAN. I'm feeling almost too emotional because 1. I'm too tired 2. That is the best thing ever or 3. All of the above.
DeleteFantastic list, Summer!! Good luck accomplishing your goals. I hope some day we will all make it to BEA. AND have an amazing reading room. :)
ReplyDeleteYES. I'd feel fulfilled.
DeleteYou've got some great goals on your list. I also want to go to BEA one day. You must read Harry Potter!! I also want a reading room when I have my own place too.
ReplyDeleteThose seem to be common sentiments!
DeleteDude. That reading room looks AMAZING. I put that on my bucket list, and the meet bloggers thing, and BEA because I NEED TO GO. I wish I could read 150 books in one year. It amazes me how many people actually do do that. I need to know their secret!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm (and Jen;) not the only one who is a BEA virgin. Someday. And we shall meet! And talk about our fabulous reading rooms. And tell each other how we figured out how to read 150 books! It's a plan, Christine. It's already in motion.
DeleteLast year I was SO close to reading 150 books. If I keep this pace up, I might hit it this year :D *fingers crossed* I hope you manage to get to it too :D That reading room looks gorgeous. I love looking at inspirational photographs like that <3
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope you do, Mel! Inspirational photos of (nearly) any kind have a place in my heart. And take a little bit of envy too, ha!
DeleteReading in Europe would be fab! And I love the reading room picture you posted! Everyone has that on their list today and I didn't even manage to think of it! And yes, read Harry Potter made my list too, ha ha. :)
ReplyDeleteHP virgins!
DeleteThis is a great list Summer! I would love to meet more bloggers in real life too! I have an author event coming up in May, so I'm hoping to meet quite a few then! Also a reading room? That is so what I need, my sister says I'm far too anti-social as it is, so I think I'd enjoy being anti-social in that room!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jasprit! Ooh, what author event? I like that idea a lot, the perfect anti-social room!
DeleteI've already done some of these, but I'll join you in striving to accomplish the ones I haven't gotten to yet! Given my dreams of living in NYC (and therefore in a tiny apartment) I have my doubts about the reading room, but I can totally obtain the other ones. And you can, too!
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteI think those are all great goals that you could definitely do, Sunny. I see nothing unrealistic there. You can do it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christy! I hope to someday :)
DeleteI DIED at the That 70's Show gif. Absolutely perfect! :P OOOOHHHH. I want a reading room too! The picture you chose is nearly perfect! :D Oh thank GOD. I'm not the only one left who hasn't read HP! I get so much nagging over that teensy weensy tiny little detail. And I want to read it! I so want to read it! Eventually. Awesome list, Summer! And I agree with Christy - nothing here is unrealistic. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay, another HP virgin! Haha, exactly. I'll eventually get to it, it's such a minor thing, right?
DeleteThat reading room picture is AMAZING. I want one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list - I'm going to BEA for the first time this year and I'm so excited! I can't wait to get all those books, but I'm really looking forward to meeting the authors and other bloggers. It's the first major event I'll be going to and I feel like I'm diving straight into the deep end. :)
I have a lot of series I want to start/finish too. I highly recommend finishing Under the Never Sky!
That's AWESOME, Danielle! I want to hear ALL about it (such a test on my envy;) You'll do great, the deep end, I hear, is lovely.
DeleteThat reading room picture looks pulchritudinous. You should attempt for 150 books while you're still young - the closest I got was 146 in freshman year of high school, and I've never had as much free time as I did then. Also, I didn't read the Harry Potter series until last summer; you can definitely get into it, and I'm looking forward to reading about your opinions when you do!
ReplyDeleteI actually love that you used pulchritudinous. New words are fun. Thanks! I'll definitely start it somewhat soon :)
DeleteI finally have my own reading room and it's amaaaazing. Good luck with yours! I love that this was a Top Ten Tuesday - I hope you come by and link it up to the Original Bookish Bucket List, too!
ReplyDeleteThat's great!
